It's the story of an extraordinary friendship and the true love that comes with it.⁣ This book got me thinking so much about control and fate. It is a love story, but not the one I expected. She's this perfect combination of numbers and feelings.⁣Īlthough we watch Dannie try to understand which man is right for her-the 'perfect on paper' man of her dreams or the one from her actual dream-this is not a romance novel. It's so foreign to her and that made it all the more exciting to watch unfold.

I loved watching this analytical planner grapple with this premonition and the idea of fate. Dannie is always in control of everything. Dannie is uptight and very particular, but this made her my ideal character for this book (plus she's Jewish, which is always a plus for me). Thankfully I ignored my doubts and picked up this book anyway. Two: I am one of the few that didn't love The Dinner List. It spans over ten years with entries from all the characters point of view and each year starts with New Years Resolutions written by Laurie.I was hesitant to read this book for two reasons.

I am so glad that I did because I fell in love with all of the characters and I liked the set up of the book. I picked this book up initially because it was set in London in the winter and I was going to be in London in the winter. My thoughts: If this book does not become a Netflix Christmas movie in 2019 I will be shocked! This book is such a fast read because you are always wondering: Does Jack remember Laurie from the bus? Should Laurie tell Sarah who Jack is? Will Sarah and Jack get married and have five kids together? Does love at first sight really exist or is an organic meeting and beginning to a relationship stronger? Every year they throw a big Christmas party in their flat for all of their friends and one year Sarah brings her new beau that she has been seeing and of all the people Laurie should meet is Jack, Sarah’s new boyfriend and Laurie’s love at first sight boy from the bus stop. She had described him thoroughly to her best friend, Sarah, who also tried to help her find him when they would go out on the weekends. She searched for over a year looking for him and fell short. Plot/ Premise: Do you believe in love at first sight? Laurie didn’t until she made direct eye contact form the window of a bus in London with a boy waiting at a bus stop.
